Cleanings & Exams

Beautiful woman smilingAdhering to a prescribed schedule for dental exams and cleanings is crucial for ensuring your dental health and overall well-being. Routine cleanings and exams help prevent gum disease, aid in monitoring your condition to allow for early intervention, and helps maintain previous dental treatment you've invested in. This helps to maintain your overall health and reduce your medical costs in the long run.

Dental Exams

The team at integratedDENTAL wants to ensure you enjoy your smile for a lifetime. When you come in for routine check-ups and hygiene care, we will evaluate your oral health, complete an oral cancer screening, and review our findings with you in-depth so you can make a decision as to what treatment options best fit you.

Professional Cleanings

Professional cleaning is an important part of your oral AND overall health. The biggest threat to your teeth and gums is the harmful bacteria found in plaque. Plaque is a thin biofilm that constantly forms on and around your teeth. If plaque is allowed to build up, it will eventually calcify into a substance called tartar, which is much more difficult to remove. During your professional cleaning, our dental hygienist will remove all instances of plaque and tartar from the surfaces of your teeth. Once your teeth are clean, we will apply polish to restore the sheen of your smile.

In many cases, tartar can only be removed during a professional dental cleaning. We may use a tool known as an ultrasonic scaler, which is more effective than traditional hand tools. The ultrasonic scaler produces microscopic bubbles that break up plaque and tartar deposits without damaging healthy tooth enamel to thoroughly clean your teeth.
