Implant-Supported Overdentures

Transform your smile with permanent, stable dentures that look, feel, and function like natural teeth. Say goodbye to loose dentures forever.

Are your existing dentures uncomfortable or difficult to function with? IntegratedDENTAL wants you to know there is a better alternative to traditional dentures – the Implant-Supported Overdenture! Implant-supported overdentures are much more comfortable because they are secured in place, eliminating an ill-fit that often leads patients to be dependent upon denture adhesives and creams. Since implant-supported overdentures have excellent retention and stability, patients spend less time worrying about their teeth falling out and more time enjoying comfortably eating!

Why Choose Implant Supported Overdentures?

Experience the freedom and confidence that comes with stable, permanent dentures.

Permanent Solutions

No more worrying about loose or ill-fitting dentures.

Natural Feel

Eat, speak, and smile with complete confidence.

Bone Preservation

Prevents jawbone deterioration and maintains facial structure.

Easy Maintenance

Simple cleaning routine, just like natural teeth.

WHAT IS AN IMPLANT-SUPPORTED OVERDENTURE?

An implant-supported overdenture is similar to a traditional denture but has the added benefit of “attachments” that snap onto the implants to snugly hold the denture in place, thus greatly increasing the retention and stability of the prosthesis. Lower dentures traditionally pose greater comfort challenges to patients due to instability issues, and that is why implant-supported overdentures are more common on the lower jaw.

Implant-supported overdentures can be either partial or complete dentures. Additionally, the number of implants and their positioning is dependent upon the type of denture a patient needs. Typically, a 3D image is required to determine if a patient is a candidate for implants and to help with digitally planning out implant placement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about implant-supported dentures.

Implant-supported dentures are a modern tooth replacement solution where a full denture is securely attached to dental implants surgically placed in the jawbone. Unlike traditional dentures that rest on the gums, these are anchored firmly, providing superior stability and function.

Traditional dentures can slip, click, or cause discomfort and require messy adhesives. Implant-supported dentures are locked in place, allowing you to eat tough foods, speak clearly without fear of slipping, and they help prevent the bone loss that often occurs with missing teeth.

We prioritize patient comfort. The implant placement is performed under local anesthesia, and most patients report that the discomfort is comparable to a simple extraction. We also offer various sedation options for patients with dental anxiety.

Initial healing takes about 7-10 days. However, the implants need 3-6 months to fully integrate with your jawbone (a process called osseointegration) before the final permanent dentures are attached. During this time, you’ll wear a temporary restoration.

Most patients who are healthy enough for a routine dental extraction are candidates. The primary requirement is having adequate jawbone density to support the implants. We provide detailed 3D imaging during your consultation to determine if this is the right path for you.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM YOUR IMPLANT-SUPPORTED DENTURE

For patients who have worn traditional dentures, the initial response when transitioning to an implant-supported overdenture is one of joy! These patients will tell you that not only do their dentures feel so much more secure and comfortable, but they are better able to speak and no longer worry about their dentures falling out. Other benefits of implant-supported overdentures include the ability to eat a greater variety of foods and to taste foods better as the option to eliminate covering the roof of your mouth with an implant-supported overdenture exists.
