Partial & Full Dentures

Full & Partial Dentures – Woodbury, NY

Dentures are dental prosthetics that are meant to replace missing teeth and the adjacent tissues. Each set is custom-made for individual patients, for each jaw is unique in shape.

Lost teeth hinder your ability to eat, talk, and enjoy life. But don’t let that hold you back. Our team here at integratedDENTAL are skilled in restoring missing teeth, both with dentures and other options. If you schedule a judgment-free consultation with us, we’ll work together with you to determine what the best treatment option is for you. While dental implants are the gold standard for replacing missing teeth, dentures are a more economical option that will replace your missing teeth.

FULL AND PARTIAL DENTURES

We make our dentures in a laboratory, using digital impressions of your mouth as a model. But the type of denture we prescribe will depend on how many teeth you’ve lost. The ideal candidate for dentures is someone who has a row of missing teeth but still has adequate oral health.

We offer both full dentures and partial dentures. If all or most of your teeth are missing along your dental arch, we will likely prescribe full dentures. But if you’re only missing a few teeth, a partial denture is a better choice.

Full Dentures

When we craft a full set of dentures, we use a flesh-colored plastic or acrylic as a base. This base rests on the gums and is molded so that it fits tightly and comfortably. The upper set of dentures will cover your palate (the roof of your mouth). A thin layer of saliva between the denture and your gums will form a seal to hold the denture in place. This is why dentures can loosen if you experience dry mouth.

The set of dentures for the lower mouth is shaped like a horseshoe to ensure there’s enough space for your tongue.

Partial Dentures

Partial dentures are plates with one or multiple prosthetic teeth attached to them.

Other Options

Dental Implants are another option for replacing missing teeth. They are considered the gold standard because the replaced tooth does not depend on the health of the adjacent teeth. Click here for more information on dental implants.

ADVANCES IN DENTAL SCIENCE HAVE IMPROVED THE QUALITY OF DENTURES

The last few decades have ushered in a bevy of dental treatment and tooth restoration options, and traditional methods such as dentures have also seen improvements. Wearing dentures may take some getting used to, and they won’t feel the same as your natural teeth. Nevertheless, dentures made today have a superior appearance and comfort level than even dentures made ten years ago.

We will guide you through every step of the process, including the consultation, the scans and molds of your mouth, the fitting procedure, and breaking in the dentures. We will also ensure that they have a tight and comfortable fit and show you how to care for them properly.
